If you want to spare yourself from reading vile language, then you'll want to skip this book. It is riddled throughout with crude language.
The story starts off with a vet who gets kidnapped. That is the inciting incident. The reader is then taken across the countryside in search of the individual but a woman was attacked and that crime needed attention.
There were no twists in the story, that I could find. This might have contributed to the extended time to complete the novel. Throughout the reading of this novel, the words ending in "ly" (adverbs) kept piling up which was another enticement to mark my spot in the book and come back later.
Toward the end of the book, the author added POVs. I had to stop and reread to ensure I understood what was read.
If the crude language and many of the unnecessary adverbs were removed, the book might be twenty-five percent shorter.
