This book began with a house explosion which took the lives of the occupants. The actual plot of the novel and the happenings throughout were interesting. With that being said, I had to force myself to read the story through to its end so I could give an honest review.

"3RD DEGREE" kept switching from 1st person POV to 3rd person POV which kept kicking me from the story. None of the characters have their own voices. On occasion, I (the reader) would be reminded the MC was female which would kick me out of the story. The MC' was female and the actions, reactions, the way she talked, were that of a man.

If you want to read a novel with a limited vocabulary, this book is for you. Of the multitude of words in the English language, the authors insisted on littering most of the pages with language that many readers would rather not read.

In my opinion, there was an overuse of adverbs in this novel. My reasoning for saying this was because words that end in 'ly' abounded. The novel could have been shortened by twenty-five percent which would make it a short story.

I wanted to like this novel but alas it was a disappointment. The main plot has been done before and the inciting incident hacked my gizzard

I will say first, this book seemed to be written at a middle school reading level and was riddled with cliches.
