Let me start by saying that I enjoy John Grisham books, this one, however, was lacking.
There was no real depth to the story as far as character arcs. The main character was sent across the globe but he had handlers ensuring his obedience. He was in Europe for a good portion of the book but there was no real story. A good portion of the book was showing the reader what the MC's daily living was like and what he had to contend with on a day by day basis.
It took me an exorbitant amount of time to complete this book since I had to keep putting it down. There were no twists which would entice me to keep reading. There were places that were supposed to be twists I guess but since I wasn't vested in the novel, they held no water with me.
I did finish the novel for the sole purpose of writing this review. Like I said, I like the author so it was a surprise when I felt like putting it down at the twenty-five percent mark.
